What is AuroMasters?

AuroMasters is the world’s first Immersive Music jukebox – your favourite albums remastered as an Immersive Music collection – available to stream in Hi-emotion, studio-quality 3D audio, at home or on the go through the AuroMasters app. It contains music that has been natively recorded or remixed and remastered in Auro-3D®, the preferred Immersive Music format of the most successful Grammy Award-winning audio engineers.

What makes AuroMasters different from other music streaming providers?

AuroMasters focuses on delivering the best Immersive Sound and artist fairness. It delivers high-fidelity Immersive 3D-Audio using the Auro-3D format—offering a richer, more lifelike listening experience than stereo or typical surround sound. The experience is both deeply emotional and calming to the mind. Unlike platforms that pay artists fractions of a cent per stream, AuroMasters gives up to 10–100x more per stream, depending on listener behavior and licensing options. It also prioritizes albums as complete works of art (including the pauses and level differences as intended by the creators), not just single-track consumption.

Do I need special equipment to listen to AuroMasters?

Not at all. AuroMasters works on most devices, including smartphones, tablets, and computers. You can enjoy the higher-quality sound on stereo or surround loudspeakers, or with any regular headphones or earbuds. The AuroMasters app transforms the original 3D sources into a virtual 3D experience on any headphones, delivering a richer emotional connection and a more relaxing listening experience. If you want to stream studio-grade Auro‑3D audio through a home theater or Hi-Fi setup, you’ll need an Auro-3D speaker setup as well as a Set-Top-Box (such as the Nvidia Shield TV) which can run the AuroMasters app and output high-resolution audio via HDMI to be connected with an HDMI input of an Auro-3D supported AV-Receiver.

What is Immersive Music?

Immersive Sound and Immersive Music are terms coined and introduced by Wilfried Van Baelen in 2010 to replace the outdated concept of “Surround Sound + Height.” Traditional formats like 5.1 or 7.1 operate on a flat, horizontal plane. What does AuroMasters cost?

AuroMasters uses a credit-based pay-per-play system, not a monthly subscription. This gives you full control: you only pay for what you actually listen to. No hidden fees, no unused monthly charges. How it works: You top up your account by buying credits (starting at just €9.50 for 50 credits). Credits are then used to unlock full tracks and albums. You only use credits if you play more than 30 seconds of a track (browsing and sampling is free). A single credit gives you 6 minutes of immersive playback in full hi-res Auro-3D. What does it cost to play a full album? A standard album of ~12 songs typically runs 45–60 minutes. That means playing an entire album usually costs around 8–10 credits. Depending on your top-up level and discount tier, this works out to about €1.50–€1.90 per album—less than a cup of coffee. With repeated listening, album prices go down. Frequent streaming (playing albums or tracks multiple times) earns you free album plays and free single track plays. Why is this better than a subscription? No wasted monthly fees if you don’t listen much. Occasional listeners pay just a few euros per month. Heavy users still benefit from volume discounts, but without the steep commitment of traditional high-end music platforms.

Can I use my Dolby Atmos setup with AuroMasters?

Yes—but with a note. A Dolby Atmos speaker setup can technically play Auro‑3D content, but it won’t fully replicate the spatial precision of a proper Auro‑3D configuration. Atmos uses ceiling or upward-firing speakers, while Auro‑3D relies on precisely placed height speakers around your room which is easier to install compared to the Dolby Atmos in-ceiling speakers. For the most authentic and emotional soundstage, an Auro‑3D system is recommended.

Where is AuroMasters available?

AuroMasters is a global platform. It is currently available to users in Europe, the US and Japan with other countries to be added soon.

How many songs or albums are available?

At launch, AuroMasters features over 50 immersive albums and 500+ tracks. We are working to add much more content as soon as possible.

Can I try AuroMasters before I buy credits?

Yes. Every track includes a free 30-second snippet, and we offer curated demo content for new users to explore Immersive Sound. You only use credits if you listen beyond 30 seconds. No hidden charges, no forced subscriptions. Just crystal-clear control over your listening and spending.

Can I mix in Auro‑3D if I already know stereo or surround mixing?

Absolutely. If you know how to mix in stereo or 5.1, you can transition smoothly to Auro‑3D. It uses familiar tools and workflows—just with the added creative power of height layers. No external renderers or specialized encoding tools are required.

Is there a Hi-Fi speaker setup guide for Auro-3D?

Can I create both Auro‑3D and Dolby Atmos mixes from the same session?

Yes. Many engineers start with an Auro‑3D mix for its predictable layout, then adapt the height channels into static objects for Atmos. With a shared speaker layout and efficient workflow, you can mix for both formats without duplicating effort.

Does AuroMasters accept upmixed content?

No. AuroMasters only features native immersive mixes, created specifically in Auro‑3D by trained engineers. Selective use of AuroMatic may be applied on isolated elements to enhance immersion, but never as a full-track upmix.

What resolution does AuroMasters stream in?

AuroMasters streams at up to 96kHz/24-bit lossless quality—the industry standard for hi-res immersive music. The platform can support up to 192kHz, and its adaptive streaming technology ensures optimal playback quality across devices.
