Charging Policy & Usage Rules
These terms of use are subject to the general terms and conditions (www.auromaster.com/ terms-of-service) and the definitions contained therein.
1. For ‘TRACKS’
Per-Play Credit Model:
o Users pay only for what they stream (=play)—no monthly subscriptions.
o They buy Credit packages to fill their wallet; larger packages give a lower price per Credit.
o Users have separate wallets for online and offline temporary use/ downloading and can easily transfer Credits from their online wallet to their offline wallet.
o The wallet can be automatically refilled using the User’s chosen Credit package (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum) with the option to set a customized minimum Credit balance that triggers the refill of a certain Credit package.
Stream Counting Rule:
Playing 30 seconds continuously of any Track counts as a ‘charged’ stream for royalty purposes toward the Rights Holders, and 1 Credit is deducted from the User’s wallet—even if the Track isn’t played in full. Once ‘charged’, the User can continue listening to the remaining part of the Track within a one-month window (starts from the moment that Track was ‘charged’). If playback of a charged Track is interrupted or stopped, the AuroMasters’ system remembers that certain point, allowing the User to seamlessly resume from where the User was left off within that one-month period.
Credit Calculation related to Track Length:
Following the above rule, the User will be charged 1 Credit for each Track up to a maximum 6 minutes length up to 96kHz-24bit lossless studio-grade audio quality in immersive Auro-3D (up to 14 simultaneous audio channels per amplifier) .
If the Track is longer than 6 minutes, another Credit will be charged. For example:
o If the Track exceeds 6 minutes, the User is charged 2 Credits.
o If the Track exceeds 12 minutes, the User is charged 3 Credits, and so on.
Rewind and Fast-forward:
o Rewinding is allowed only once per Track, maximum 30 seconds, without any additional charge.
o Only a new Credit resets the rewind limit, allowing one additional 30-second rewind for each charged Track.
o Fast-forwarding is unlimited, but the fast-forwarded portion is still counted as “consumed” once the Track has been charged (in case of playing 30 seconds continuously).
Track Restarting:
Within the first 29 seconds of a single Track, the User can restart the Track from the beginning without extra Credit. Such restart is limited to twice per Track within the same Track listening session.
Temporary Offline Downloading:
o When downloading Tracks for offline listening, the corresponding Credits are deducted immediately, and each Track is marked with a pre-paid symbol.
o After 30 seconds of continuous offline playback of a Track, the pre-paid symbol will be removed, and the User can continue listening (only once) to the Track within the one-month validity window.
Pre-paid Streams for Individual Tracks:
Note: Individual Tracks outside of Albums cannot be pre-paid . A ‘pre-paid’ symbol appears on Tracks that have been pre-paid, either through temporary offline downloads or via an Album (see further).
Snippets:
Snippets are ‘free previews’, limited to a maximum length of 29 seconds per Track, allowing Users to discover music for promotional reasons, at no cost. Repeated playback of the same snippet is restricted (see above).
Volume Stream Discount for Tracks:
When a User streams the same Track multiple times, the User can obtain a ‘free Listen’ for that specific Track—the pre-paid symbol for that related Track increases by 1—This is only the case after reaching certain thresholds advised by the Rights Holders individually per Track. These free listens still count toward royalty calculations. If a User unregisters and deletes its Account, all Threshold data linked to its Tracks will be permanently deleted
Track Consumption Rules:
o A Track must be charged first (see above).
o A Track is considered as “Consumed” if both conditions are met: a) At least 30 seconds of continuous playback; b) The User has reached the last 20 seconds of the Track
o If a Track has been "Skipped"—meaning the User immediately switched to the next Track before the Track has been charged (the User has not yet reached the last 20 seconds of a certain Track), the Track will not be considered as consumed.
o If a ‘charged’ Track has been "Skipped" within the last 20th seconds, it will be considered as consumed and removed from the queue list.
2. For “ALBUMS”
Users can listen to Tracks from an Album by:
o Selecting individual Tracks to play (standard charging rules incl. Volume Discount per Track will apply)
o Pre-paying the full Album to benefit from an “Album Discount,” advised by the Record Label and displayed to the User as a discount percentage.
Pre-paid Tracks Playback:
o Playback Limit: Each pre-paid Album Track can be played once. Subsequent plays are charged as individual Tracks at the price corresponding to the User’s threshold.
o Visual Indicators: Pre-paid Album Tracks show a ‘symbol’ on the corresponding Track in the queue (both Album Mode and Track –by Track mode). Multiple pre-payments add numbers to the symbol showing how many pre-paid listens remain. The pre-paid symbol decreases or disappears as Tracks are consumed.
Discount Thresholds for Albums:
o The more an Album is pre-paid and streamed, the faster Users reach higher discount Thresholds (the minimum number of paid streams that must be reach for an Album or a Track in order to activate the next level of discount..
o Reaching discount thresholds in Album Mode also speeds up the discount progression for the individual Tracks within that Album, enabling Users to unlock higher discounts more quickly when streaming those Tracks separately.
Downloading Albums Offline:
o Credits are deducted upon download and the pre-paid symbol of each Track will disappear when it is consumed as defined above.
o Offline pre-payment for Albums is also supported, with Credits deducted from the User’s ‘Offline Wallet’. Users have both an Online and Offline Wallet and can transfer Credits from the Online Wallet to the Offline Wallet. The pre-paid symbol decreases or disappears once a Track has been consumed.
Listening Modes for Albums:
After a User has chosen for a pre-paid Album stream to profit from the Album Discount, the User has to choose between two listening modes.
o “Track-by-Track” – The Album can be streamed as a set of individual Tracks in which the User can change the running order in the queue or use the shuffle mode. So, Users can manually add Album Tracks to the “ALL” section (Tracks & Albums) or Track-by-Track.
o “Album Mode” – The Album is provided to experience it as a continuous file, ensuring that the natural pauses, the levels, transitions, or even gapless playback between songs are preserved, reflecting the original vision of the Rights holders.
Album Mode Features:
o Users can directly select any Track of the Album for immediate playback.
o Users can reorder the queue of different Albums but cannot reorder Tracks within a specific Album.
o Tracks cannot be removed individually; only the whole Album can be removed from the queue.
o Rewind is limited to twice (max 30 seconds each) per pre-paid Album stream. Further rewind attempts are blocked and notified to the User
o For each pre-paid stream in Album Mode, Users can resume the last played Track from the beginning if playback was interrupted for at least 10 minutes. After using this option once, any further resumption within the same pre-paid session will start from the exact point of interruption. Users have up to one year from the date the Album was pre-paid to resume playback
o The fast-forward option (easily accessible via a slider) has no additional restrictions and follows the same rules as for individual Tracks.
Threshold Data:
Threshold info is deleted when Users unregister and/ or terminate their Account.
Album Mode Consumption Rules:
o Tracks consumed in Album Mode are disabled for replay in that mode except if the User has still pre-paid options related to that same Track.
o Full Album consumption is achieved when all Tracks in the Album are played within a 12-month period starting from the original pre-payment date. After 12 months, any unplayed Tracks expire, and the User must re-purchase the Album to access those remaining Tracks.
o If a User chooses to re-prepay an Album before all Tracks have been consumed, the pre-paid symbol count will increase for the Tracks that have not yet been played.
o Skipped Tracks are not counted as consumed.
